A DAY

Play In A Day (PIAD) is an all-ages theatre event that challenges participants to conceive, write, direct, and rehearse an original short play - all within just 24 hours! No previous theatre experience is required, everyone is welcome to join! Guided by a unifying theme and incorporating a surprise prop and costume element, PIAD fosters creativity, collaboration, and spontaneity among artists of all ages and experience levels. The event invites families, friends, co-workers, and fellow creatives to connect through the shared joy of performance.

Culminating in a live showcase at King Street Theatre (9808 King Street), the completed plays are performed before a supportive audience and a panel of local "celebrity judges." The awards ceremony adds a lighthearted, humorous touch, celebrating participation and creativity.

Chaos Cabaret (formerly known as Miscast Musical Cabaret) is a bold and inclusive event that invites artists of all ages and experience levels to take the stage! Performers are encouraged to step out of their comfort zone and brave roles that they would love to play, but would never traditionally be cast in. This creative twist opens the door for performers to explore unexpected characters, genres, and vocal styles, sparking artistic growth and personal expression.

Designed to celebrate imagination and individuality, Chaos Cabaret offers a laid-back snf supportive space for artists to take creative risks and for audiences to enjoy a joyful, unconventional evening of performing arts. By encouraging participants to step outside their comfort zones, Chaos Cabaret fosters a spirit of experimentation, community connection, and pure theatrical fun!
